Even More from the Mailbag

I am taking this in, slowly,
Taking it into my body.
This grief. How slow
The body is to realize
You are never coming back.

~ Donna Masini

Hi Guy,

Just reading today’s Washington Post article about the heat wave at the North Pole — clearly not news for you. Despite the grim news, I feel comforted by the fact that you have prepared me for this reality. I’ve often wondered about the timeline you present, but then I see articles like this and I realize how right you are.

You know this is a very unpopular topic, so I really can’t discuss it with anyone other than you.

XOXO
“Jane”

Dearest “Jane,”

I doubt many medical doctors receive thanks for providing a terminal diagnosis. You’re welcome?

The president of Finland has been filling the airways with talk of an ice-free Arctic leading to our demise. I suspect we’re on track for that event this summer. Civilization might make it until next summer based on stored grains. Or not.

Big hugs,
Guy
