Artist Statement:

“The Broken Heart of Muffeletta”

Materials Stone: Onyx and alabaster Size: 91/2″ X 71/2″ X 6″

Time in Life, as we know of it, and its passage as so it is… Many hope for the long version and then there are those that are going to get so much less!
My story as it’s told “The Broken Heart of Muffeletta” (Muffeletta is Mother-earth) follows none other.

Muffeletta’s story is about life’s journey and then there is the End….

When I first started sculpting this angelic piece, my mind was fragmented and captured, my feelings rough-fulled with fear, and my sole was taunted. But only to be focused on Muffeletta and the beautiful life she’s forded Us — and Yet, despite the brevity (at the time of this writing, ‘What?’ only 200 years), she has given and given and even given more. She is the mother that bored Us all this grand and great land. And now, She speaks in many languages to say it’s Over. One will soon feel the weeping of her tears as storms ablaze, the air of thunder and the heat of Hell will be a pond Us all to soon.

As my hands move in sink with the chisel and saws smooth with the wrath & file… Leaves one to think that She has been so kind to everyone and the selflessness She has afforded. When I think of her, “happy, sad, forgiveness, love” are the first thoughts that resonates with me.
So, I gift this stone sculpture to you Muffeletta and all of your Goddess of likeness.

When Guy first said it was terminal, He 1st told us that if all went well, Muffeletta would still have several years left. This diagnosis quickly changed and the prognosis dwindled to months or maybe a few years.

My dear Muffeletta, I give you and the We in you this piece of art that I feel so represents your life’s journey. The stairs case symbolize the ups and downs of all of our dreams — and the heart held in the palm of Mother-earth hand symbolize the love and strength She once had for all of Us. — and red vane that runs through the heart is as though a tear drop we all felt when we came to understand that we were losing you to a greater plan … Good bye I say.

So Guy, in my most humble of ways and all do respect, I would like to support your life’s journey… And gift you this piece with hopes that someone with much deeper pockets listening and watching/following you will offer up and buy this beautiful piece of art. So to give you the needed funds you need to be able to reach out to the many more Peoples that need to hear what you have to say!

Wanted: Farm/Ranch/Country place to live on and help in sharing the chores…

Hello my name is Rockos I live in MN and I have been thinking about moving out to Eastern Washington, Upper Idaho (panhandle area) or MT area.

My background is: *I’m a long standing old (I’m 63) Midwest Farm boy (I sold my place about 15-years ago)… *I sense found or I should say it found me… “Art”… I’m now a Stone Sculptor by Passion (God chose to put this skill in my hands in 2006)… You can check out my work and read my bio online..: Saatchi Art website or if you just type in my name: Rockos Behr artist on google I will come up…

I am very handy with my hands (as I mentioned I came from farming) and I feel I would be bringing lot of Skills (mechanical, Carpentry and I really like Cooking.. just to name a few) to the party per say..:)

I sold my farm back about 15- years ago and have been doing a lot of traveling… I now find myself miss the country and would like to get back to the earth… But I’m not so interested in owning my own place any more. So if you have an in the country place and would consider having someone join you, and I promise I’ll do my share and more.!
