Mailbag: Entitlement, Hubris, and Ignorance

Hubris and science are incompatible

~ Douglas Preston

Jake writes. He’s filled with idealism, as I once was. His version includes abundant hubris and a profound sense of entitlement. Perhaps mine once did, too.

My response is professional. I’m curious what Jake has in mind. It soon becomes clear his glasses are tinted with sufficient rose coloring to filter out reality. And, as with essentially everyone knocking at my door, he wants something for nothing. I really don’t have time for this crap.

Are you interested in participating in a video conference call on creating a wonderful world?

Under what conditions? When?

Tomorrow around 8 pm?

What is your audience? What is your goal?

Creating a wonderful world.

Do you know about my message?

I’ve heard you speak. The question is: How exactly do we transition from the way things are today to a Whole New Way of Living rooted in Love and Wisdom.

We’re in the midst of abrupt, irreversible climate change. We’re in the midst of a mass extinction event. We are on the verge of losing habitat for most species on Earth, including humans.

There is no transitioning beyond the dystopia under way, except to a worse version of dystopia. I’m interested in evidence, not fantasy.

So enjoy the rest of our lives? Is that it? What are you proposing?

You might want to familiarize yourself with my extensive body of freely available work before you misinterpret my message and then transmit it publicly. I get libeled and slandered every day. I don’t need more.

i am asking for clarification. What are you proposing?

Read extensively, please: GuyMcPherson.com

I’ll not copy and paste volumes for everybody

May I call you now? It’ll save time.

Sure. I have no fucking life. Call me instead of doing your homework.

It’ll save you time. Not me.

In 2002, i began studying what is happening in the world.

i put in at least 80 hours every week to ascertain the facts.

There is so much misinformation and disinformation put out by the corporate media and on the internet.

Therefore, i look at the source documents.
i listen to the testimonies of whistleblowers and the testimonies of eyewitnesses.
i look at the video evidence and the photographic evidence.
i listen to fellow researchers.

i do not subscribe to any beliefs, religions, philosophies, or ideologies.

i listen to ALL sides.
i am neither for or against anyone or anything.
i allow the evidence to speak for itself.

My radicalism began much earlier than yours and includes far more distinguished awards. I’d love to create a beautiful world. And because I’m a realist, I know that creating such a world is limited to the small group of people with whom I interact on a daily or weekly basis.

Then carry on in your limited world.

I’ve made sacrifices you can’t even imagine.
