Peer-Reviewed Paper Invited, Published
I was invited by the managing editor to submit a paper to the peer-reviewed, open-access journal Modern Concepts and Developments in Agronomy. I promptly submitted a draft based on my earlier work in this space. After reviews and subsequent revisions, the paper was published 12 June 2020. The title and abstract are pasted below, and a pdf of the paper can be found here.
Title: Trees Cannot Sequester Enough Carbon to Slow Abrupt Climate Change
Abstract: The idea of planting trees to sequester atmospheric carbon is considered. Obviously, the process of photosynthesis insures that trees sequester carbon from the atmosphere. However, there are important questions that arise as we consider whether, how, and how many trees to plant. How fast do trees sequester carbon from the atmosphere? How much carbon do trees sequester? What negative side-effects are associated with planting large numbers of trees? These critical questions are addressed herein.
I have earned no money, nor will I earn money, for this article. Indeed, there were significant page charges attendant to having the paper published. I explained the process of peer review in this space more than two years ago.

Mugs, tote bags, iPhone cases, tee shirts, and other pragmatic goods affiliated with the latter book are available on Redbubble). I do not earn money from these items. Indeed, they have returned far less money than it cost to create and distribute them. I list them at the bottom of posts in this space in support of my artistically inclined partner, who created them.
